PGA HOPE Philadelphia Sees Growth in Year Two The Philadelphia PGA began its second year of the PGA HOPE Philadelphia program which is a branch of PGA Reach Philadelphia. PGA HOPE Philadelphia is a rehabilitative program designed to introduce golf to veterans in order to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. Year two of PGA HOPE Philadelphia saw the program expand to a second facility and also had an increase in participation to nearly thirty veterans. Returning for a second season, Horsham Family Golf served as host to a group of veterans as they went through the four week instructional program. Joining as a second host facility for PGA HOPE Philadelphia in year two was Burlington Country Club. At the conclusion of the four week program all PGA HOPE Philadelphia participants were invited to Burlington Country Club for a graduation ceremony. The graduation event featured veterans being paired with a PGA Professional as they made their way around Burlington Country Club. This intimate group size allowed our PGA Professionals to provide one on one instruction as the veterans tried to hone their newly acquired skills. Player Development Leila Mackie, PGA is currently working on putting together a Fall PGA HOPE Philadelphia session and more details will be published on the website when they become available. The Section thanks all of the veterans who participated as well as our PGA Professionals who donated their time.
